Im thinking about changing a 5 speed tranny for a automatic. Any recommendations as to a good tranny to change to? This will be a daily driver w/ 305 TPI/Limited slip.
Does anyone know if I will have to change the computer and/or wiring harness to go from a Manual to auto tranny?
Is there a tranny that is not computer controlled? (I have another IROC 305 w/ 700R4 tranny.)
I'm just looking for info please

ACK! WHY!?
heres what you do, sell your car to someone that can appreciate the manual... and buy a auto car.... you can even get a auto with a 350 in it...

Because IROC's are very hard to find here in the Frisco bay area at a decent price, and in good condition. anything under 7000.00 usually needs a bunch of work. This car is a clean car with little work needed, but the car is for my girl who wants a auto. I'm getting a damn good deal n the car so Im checkin my options.

also, remind her that "manuals being hard in traffic" is a myth...
and people have been using them for over 100 years :D

My girl read your post and suggested that if your girl or boyfriend knew how to work your stick as well as she does mines, then maybe you wouldnt be sitting there typing like you had a stick slammed up your ass .... hahahahaha.
I wonder if I'm the only one who thinks that was kinda funny ??

He's right, I'd agree if you are just gonna swap an auto sell you manual car and buy one with an auto. I've looked around though and you're not gonna find a descent 3rd gen around here for cheap. If you actually live in the city how fast do you burn through clutches? It's a pain in the ass getting up those hills in stop and go traffic with a manual.
BTW my cars an auto and girls like it :D I'd always wanted a good iroc.

Joe, actually I live in Palo Alto, & my girl lives in San Jo, ( where I'm usually at) so the hills aren't really a factor... but good looking out.

It's not a Camaro, no T-tops or Conv. However it's been inspected by ebay and looks to have a lot of good new parts:

Firebird GTA's ain't too bad. Lot's of options as well as that 5.7 TPI
