View Full Version : So What When and Where Should We Do Our Next Gathering???

I figure if we get to thinking about this early enough, we should be able to plan out a pretty good gathering that a lot of people can make it to. So I liked having the BBQ the last gathering I was at, and I think it'd kick ass if we could get another 20+ car turnout like George said they did at the Frisco gathering. Of course some spirited driving is in order, and eating is a must. Filling the gaps is up to debate. :D

Tahoe would definitely be cool for a weekend. Especially cause we know that you've got the inside on what good places are there to drive around and be at. Maybe some other people will wander in here and see this post and pose some more ideas. Then again, maybe a snowball will survive in Hell. :p

Hello, i'm originally from southern californi but i recently started going to Chico State. I'm back in SoCal for the summer but i'll be back up there in late august. I would love to go to a gathering since i haven't been to one since i moved.

I'm in. We should all go to the lake for a gathring and have a BBQ. Lake Tahoe is to cold but we could do it at Folsom Lake or Lake Oroville or any other Lake you can think of. Swim,BBQ, and hang out during the day....Race, cruise and party at night!

I don't think that Tahoe would be too cold in the summer. Then again, I've never really been in Tahoe during the summer, so.... But we should get cracking on this, it would suck to go through the summer and not get one gathering off the ground.

Folsom or Oroville? Are you serious? What is at either of them worth going to?
Tahoe wont be too cold. I think an early August date would be perfect, still enough time to plan and the weather will be warmest. Its not gonna be hot like we're used to in the valley, but how about mid 70's to 80's and a perfect blue sky?
Tahoe (imo) would be awesome. Beach (BBQ, pictures...imagine the photo opportunities...) the mountains and scenery in general, the casinos for those that want to do that, and the best part...a 2 hour cruise around the lake, which is a kick ass drive.
If ya'll are interested, then speak up and b heard, I'll be glad to start trying to organize somethin and take ideas.

Hey man whats up? I go to Chico too. What kinda car do you have? I need some help representing our cars, too many Mustang guys in this town (including my friends...grrr.)
So do you have a place lined up for next semester?

That sounds perfect to me. Damn, maybe I'll just go up by myself if no one else wants to join in. It's sounding better and better all the time. The only thing I have to worry about in August though is a week camping trip I'm planning with some friends around the 20th I think. I can't remember the exact dates though.

I'd be up for a meeting in the Bay Area! Let's figure out something! I'm going to get my car painted in a few weeks, so then would be ideal...

Yeah i have a White 92 Camaro RS. I haven't gotten much of a chance to do anything to it yet except for a shift kit. Its hard to come up with money to mod your car when your going to school (beer is expensive ) I dunno if i want to do a TPI conversion or not, i might just try to work with the current TBI. Where are you living next year? I'm in Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity over on the corner of 5th and Chestnut so i'll be living in the fraternity house next year, feel free to stop by we have 4 fbody owners including me but i'm probably the only serious 3rd gen owner and one guy is kind of an asshole 4thgenner. You might have seen him, Its a blue 99 (I think) SS with exhaust and headlight and tailight covers.

Cool dude. I'm living on 7th St and Hickory, if you go down W 7th across Nord you'll run right into my house.
I've partied at the lambda chi house a couple times :)
And yeah I know that blue SS you're talking about, dont know the guy though.
Well you gotta get that thing a little faster and come out racing with me at the street races (too many mustangs out there!).
Keep in touch.

Well I just think Lake Tahoe would be a far better location compared to Folsom or oroville, and not too much further.
Go and ahead and dont hold your breath but I cant very well organize anything if nobody voices their opinion or even bothers to say if they wanna go or not. It seems like everyone likes the sound of a cool gathering but then dont wanna follow through and commit to it, I cant do anything about that.

I really gotta get a job out there, then i could do some cool stuff. It seems like the other half of our fraternity is Mustang owners and i know a few of them go to the street races. I would love to go, i used to go to the ones down here all the time until they got broken up. So you live out by the Zoo? I have a bunch of friends that live out there. We'll have to meet up, i'll get you on the guest list for the next big Lambda Chi bash that isn't an open party. I pay rent so if sombody doesn't like it they can shove it.

About a gathering out near Tahoe, I could make it if it was the third week of august or later. I have to stick around Socal until then. And i would definitely come if i was in the area. I just can't come up earlier because of work and its not practical to drive up for 2 days. Its a long boring 8 hour drive on I5 to get between here and chico and getting to Tahoe extends the trip.

Yeah I live right across the street (kitty-corner) from the Zoo. I wanna do a little work to my car then head out to the races again, havent been out in a month or so, but it'll be fun to have another thirdgen out there.
And the party invite sounds good to me :)
We'll see about Tahoe, if no one replys or commits to it, I'm not gonna worry about planning it.

First few weeks are gonna be nuts like always so i'll keep you informed. My car is really clean and looks damn good (if i do say so myself :) ) But its just not fast, I'm working on that though. The only things stopping me is a lack of money and a lack of tools in chico.

Oh, forgot to correct it lastnight but obviously the above post was me on my roomates computer...
as for tools... gotcha covered there, you just need a little cash. I've got friends with a shop, so I can get you access to that. maybe you've heard of them....Low Buck...? Probably not but maybe....
shit...come to think of it, you get them into all your parties and they'd probably do some free work for ya....never know.

hehe Low Buck, never heard of em but sounds like my kind of place :). Parties shouldn't be much of a problem hehe it is chico after all. Some are fraternity only (where we get to party with the sorority girls :) :) ) But then again i pay dues. Are you working in Chico? If you hear of any job opportunities lemme know, it would help alot with my car building opportunities. I may be cooking at Rileys since one of the Lambda Chis is a manager there but i'm starting to think its not gonna happen.

I'm working at Walgreen's, assistant manager there. Right now we're not hiring but maybe when school starts I can get your foot in the door...? :)
