Look at this shit!

http://www.iroczdesigns.com/images/cam67.jpg

I cant believe nobody else went but George! You're all assholes, if I had half enough gas I would have gone and stopped by Dad's on the way home and begged for more.

Anyway, we obviously need to get in touch with these guys and grow a little. Time to plan something for the Bay Area. I say we plan a little one day cruise and lunch (possibly a BBQ or a beach thing???) and get together with ALL of these dudes as well.

What'll you all say?

I'm thinking East bay (Contra Costa County area?) or the Pennisula (the City, beach, etc) so its a little more centralized and not too far from the Valley.
(sorry George you still gotta drive A LITTLE BIT)

Also with Spring here we should be able to count on some beautiful weather, and in the Bay it wont be so hot. And just think of the photo ops if we do it somewhere along the coast or with some famous landmark in the backdrop (i.e. Golden Gate etc).

Anyway, lets do a little something before Vegas.

And i mean something easy and cheap so everyone can do it. Just a cruise and lunch and a nice, comfortable place to hang out for the afternoon and chill, take pictures, bullshit, do doughnuts, etc etc.
you know...someplace where everyone will wanna just hang and not be worried about leaving or whatever.

Ok, now its up to all of you.

Yeah see, so that's at least 14 cars right there!!! More than we've everh had at a single Sac gathering.

Well, come on George, whats YOUR imput?

GK

Yeah, an unformal gathering would be great. Like you said, hang out and shoot the shit. Perhaps our meeting with the guys here will get some of them to attend our Vegas gathering as well!

i was like what board are you from and they would say thirdgen...and i was like which one...and they were like uhhhhh.....thirdgen....i was like 3rd or third....they were like ohhhh....third.....i was like....you should check you 3rd...its much better..and GK here is the admin! anyways...yall missed out...it was damn fun....we can have the gathering here in Frisco..thats where the Golden Gate Bridge is :D...and my house too!...theres also some cool beaches....nothin like LA though :D

Guys,
I will take the initiative to plan our next
cruise in the SouthBay.

Tetatively, let's plan for May Barbecue at
Vasona Park. You guys will love this place!
Big Parking lot and beautiful park!

Tommy,

If we do it in the South Bay then everyone from the valley is gonna bitch about how it is "soo far" etc etc. Thats why I thought that Easy Bay or the City would be a nice idea, a compromise kinda.

And also, nothing against San Jose, but I would think there might be more sights to see if we did it up North further. ut maybe thats just me as I am much more familiar with every other part of the Bay than SJ.

Also, I say we let the group as a whole decide on where we should locate it, get a general consensus before we make a commitment. You agree?

I'm sure you're cool with driving to somewhere in the bay right? :) ;)

Yep, thats how it used to be in the "good 'ol days". There used to be one grand website with all 5,000+ of us.
Some shit went down and everyone scattered and now there's 3 (main) websites. I laugh when people are like..."yeah I'm from thirdgen.org or I'm from 3rdgen.org" or whatever. Its like, shit was happened happened, its over. Its in the past and you cant change it, some people need to just let it die and realize we're all from the same place. And all the hard feelings and bullshit are just silly, its just the internet.

I dont consider myself loyal to any one site, I go to all of them. And you have to because there are some people who will only stay at one site because of some silly bullshit.

Anyway, it'd be cool to be able to at least "announce" metings over at thirdgen.org to get more attention. Hmmm, thats a good idea, maybe I'll look into that.

I'd like to see the Nor-Cal thirdgenners come down and race at Bakersfield at the West Coast GM Shootout. Remember doing this last year for the West Coast Thirdgen Gathering? You guys should come down again and race. Or are you chicken? :D

I vote for Santa Cruz as well. Hell I'm going there on Saturday to spend the day w/ my lady.
Santa Cruz would defintely be the shit!!!!!! I don't think that I will race cause the only thing that you will see will be a 16 sec 1/4 mile run from my 6 banger.

I'm with you there Mike. I think a cruise to Santa Cruz would be badass. I also probably wouldn't race much, unless it was with you. We could have our sixers battle it out. But it would also be cool to have a huge line of thirdgens on the Golden Gate Bridge and have someone take a picture while we're driving or whatever. So I vote The City or Santa Cruz.

Santa Cruz???

Santa Cruz is cool but its waay the hell down there (hehe, now I'm complaining about distance). I just thought people would like the Bay Area idea because its is kinda centralized and a compromise for everyone to make. And there is also a lot of options on things to do, just more to do/see there then in the Valley.

Well so far it sounds like you guys like the idea of doing something in the City?

Sounds good to me.

If we do it in that area, lets hear some ideas!?!? Everyone give they're 2 cents!

Anywhere is cool for me. I'm kinda burnt out of Sacramento right now. I vote for some place where a beach is near so that ocean or bay breeze can roll through, damn I love that shit. I'm game for anywhere really.
Also Silly Wabbit I may lose in a race against you. Before I had my system installed I was running a 15.98 in the 1/4 mile, since then I have added 500 lbs cause of the stereo system. SO who knows.

Hey Guys,
I don't know about Santa Cruz...it would have
to be a hot day for usto go there....usually
it is overcast and cold.

I think the Vasona Park deal is better. Lots
of parking...nice barbecue pits...
beautiful lake....and in the heart of one
of the most beautiful cities..Los Gaots.

I can even take you on a wicked Canyon drive, that is just minutes away from the park....

Tell me what you think.

"Centralized" WTF I never not once have ever bitched about the locations always being further for me than anybody but c'mon. "Always overcast and cold" I go there all the time and NEVER not 1 time has it been overcast or cloudy in the summertime. Centralized you say? Fresno is dead smack in the middle of CA. timmy boy :) Anyway whatever I'll see what I can make.

Mike harvy... you say your burned out on sacramento I dont remember you going to a gathering there. How did that happen?

Black Beauty
03-27-2001, 09:43 AM
LOL

i think "we" mean centralized among us...like the epicenter of all the people....soooo somewhere b/w frisco, sac, and SJ....or something....or like i said....we can do it here in frisco :D

I've never run my car Mike, but I'm guessing I'm hitting around 16 seconds. All I've got right now is a chopped air box with K&N's and homemade ram air/forced induction. I probably negated that with the 2 10's and amp I threw in the back though. I did a very rough estimated 0-60 run on the way home from school and counted off about 10 or so seconds going slightly uphill.

I never said that I was burnt out of gatherings in Sacramento, hell I've never even been to one. I'm just burnt out of Sacramento period. I'm there at least 2-3 times a week & I live in Stockton. I just want to have it somewhere else than Sac. That's what I meant.
