Free Ram Air

What you need:

1) saw or dremel tool

2) sandpaper

3) ratchet, 3” extension and 10mm socket

Step 1)

Make sure the car is off and the key is out, now unclip the 2 clips on the front of the air lid

Step 2)

Loosen the clamp that attaches the Mass Air Flow Sensor to the throttle body and unplug the IAT and MAF plugs. Now take off the entire MAFS and air lid, set it aside. Take your air filter out too.

Step 3)

use the 10mm socket to remove the 4 screws on the lower airbox/radiator support. Pull the hole peace out.

Step 4)

now use the dremel or hand saw to enlarge the 2 holes all the way up.

Step 5)

replace the air lid and MAFS and tighten down the clamp, plug back in the IAT and MAF sensors, replace the air filter and clip it down.

Step 6)

start the car and check to see if you get any check engine lights, if you did everything right you won’t but if you do here’s what to do:

1. Turn key to the to the run position but don’t start it
2. Pull the PCM BAT and PCM IGN fuses in engine compartment
3. Wait about 5 minutes
4. Turn the car off and then put the fuses back in
5. Start the car and then make sure the light has gone

NOW BECAREFUL!

It very rarely happens but try to avoid large puddles, if you get water sucked into your intake you will experience hydro-lock and you WILL need to replace the engine.

If you live where it’s very wet a lot you could easily fabricate a piece that would fit in between the air filter holder and the lower airbox.

A lot of people have done this mod and its proven affective so as long as you don’t go roarin’ through puddles you’ll be fine J.
