Texas is a "no-fault" state in an accident. What does that mean?

Some hypotheticals:

1. I have liability only insurance. A stupid cunt pulls out in front of me and I hit her. It is "her fault". Does her insurance fix my car or am I fucked?

2. I have liability only insurance. An accident occurs in which there is not a clear "fault". (two cars scrape together in a tight lane arrangement for example). Is my car fucked or does the other insurance company fix it?

Explain, please.

Nobody fixes it, you don't have collision insurance.

first case. you would have to go after her insurance company to pay to fix your car, providing shes got insurance. she's at fault.
second case. with no way to clearly prove who's at fault youre out of luck.

What it means is that if you have full coverage insurance and you're involved in an accident where the fault cannot be clearly determined, your insurance company MUST pay for the damages to your vehicle. If you have liability coverage only, they are not required to pay the damages.

Liability insurance is merely the legal minimum. It covers damage you do to other cars, but not yours.
