What if, on my trans am, I were to remove the bracket and just bolt the license plate directly to the nosecone. The reason I'm not sure about it is that I would have to bend it slightly over the line in the middle. I think it would at least be better than having the bracket sticking out of the front with the plate on it.

That's what I thought but I don't know if there is some funky law about it having to be perfectly flat or something.

On my 86 sc, i have the plate hanging from two peices of copper wire. It is beat to shit, bent up and i havent had any problems with it.
