OK.... A friend of mine bought an 87 Z28 with a spun bearing from a wrecking yard, with a wrecking yard receipt. He put another engine in it, but couldn't get it to start. Out of frustration, he sold it to me for what he had in it.

The engine did not come with the car.

My question: what kind of documentation am I going to need to get this thing through the State Patrol inspection, necessary for titling/plating wrecking yard purchased cars?

i don't know about there, but here you would have to have it inspected and reissued as a salvaged title. that's only good if you plan on keeping it because most people won't touch a salvaged title.

Oh yeah... I'm keeping this bad boy. The car wasn't hit... as I undersstand it, it was a matter of a prior owner getting really pissed that he'd done a lot of work to it just to spin the bearing in the 305. It's in otherwise tremendous condition.
