I have a lot of friends in to Imports, a lot of them have done a 1.8 Liter GSR and the 1.6 SI motor swap in to their Hondas. Some are quick, my friend did a GSR swap in his 91 Intergra and that car can run. Well, a lot of them didn't get their parts the legal way. Today my friend was saying Cops stop you and check your motor. How can tell if this stuff is jacked? How can they check all the #s?

that will come back to haunt them one day......and let me guess, if someone were to steal those parts from them they'd be throwing a fit over who took them. no offense to you, but i think i hate your friends already.

Its easy to check if they were stolen, ever hear of a "matching numbers" car. The VIN matches the S/N's stamped into the parts put into it. So if somehow they suspected one of your friends, they could impound it, check the numbers against cars that have been stolen and wala! They're fucked. But I highly doubt they'd get fucked for it on a routine traffic stop, someone would have over hear them talking about have "not so legal" parts and let the popo know.

Do your friends know that if they have so much as one stolen part on their car, they can lose the entire car? That's right, if they get caught, the owner of that stolen part gets to keep the car.

So, if I put my specially marked antenna on someones car and called the cops, would I then be able to keep the other persons car since I said that my antenna was stolen and I found it on that persons car?

None taken man, I dont really like most of them any way. http://www.3rdgen.org/ubb/smile.gif Most of my real friends would beat the shit out of some one who steals parts. #s may not match but what i'm saying is a lot of people do Honda motor swaps. Thousands of Hondas are also so stolen every year. I see it as a huge night mare for cops because they have 1 more burden on their back.

Thats not something they check on a average traffic stop, unless they have reason to believe you stole the engine and if your stupid enough to get caught in that situation you deserve to go to jail, becaus all you gotta do it keep your mouth shut and not brag.
