Are the true Xenon bulbs like on the BMW's, Lexus's, Acura's, etc... Legal or not. I keep hearing the debate, and I hear that if they are DOT approved they are OK, and then I hear that even DOT approved are not legal, so what is the legality of them?

Items that are original equipment and DOT approved are legal.

Ok thanks http://www.3rdgen.org/ubb/smile.gif My car has original factory lights in it, and they are Xenon and I was just wondering if they were legal or not. I was pulled over once by an officer and he was questioning me on the lights, and I had to explain to the officer that they were the factory headlights.

if your car did not come with the blueish ultra brite lights they CAN with out a doubt be added 100% legaly.. go to the local autoparts store and pick up a new replacement upgrade. because of this debate, on the package it will say 100% street legal, dot approved for all 50 states. just as a precaution keep the packaging for one of the lights, just to show the officer....
had to add bold to replacement upgrade
