My car is registered in PA, I go to school in OH, My car has no inspection stickers on it, Can an ohio cop pull me over for the lack of inspection? I also have an 8-inch tall pro-stock hood scoop on it, is it legal? I have an 8-point cage w/ 5-point harnnesess for the driver and passenger, there is no back seat, are they legal? Thanks

Not sure about the hood, but the cage and harness are ok,and as long as the car has working lights, turn signals and the cat.

If your car has a PA plate, then I don't think you'd get pulled over. http://www.3rdgen.org/ubb/smile.gif

As long as you keep your Pa drivers license and car registerd in Pa, then they should not be able to fine you for ohio laws. the scoop is questionable, does it block your view in anyway? If a cop does think it blocks your view then he may be able to ticket you. the back seet doesnt matter as long as no one is sitting back there..

technicly if there is a seatbelt law in that state you could get a ticket for not being buckled. 5 point harnesses are not DOT approved, however i doubt a officer would ticket you for a safty upgrade. i was thinking of putting a 5 pt harness in my car but i need a way to mount the top belts first. i want a rollbar that dosent require the elimination of the rear seat, it may limit access because i dont use it much, but if i need to haul more than one person i dont want to be SOL.

I'm pretty sure it's legal to drive w/out a hood, I don't see what the big deal w/ a scoop would be! I see cars around here all the time with no hoods..

Yes! It is legal to drive without a hood!

I did it for two weeks when my GF and I got evicted. I had my other car hidden and this was my parts car. Her girlfriend got caught dealing grass from our rented house. The landlord didn't appreciate it. http://www.3rdgen.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

it would depend on whether or not the hood created an obstruction for the driver's view and how the law is written in ohio. if you're required to be inspected in PA, then it can be enforced in OH if it is not current. states will honor a current registration and inspection from your home state, but it MUST BE CURRENT.

I've been told that here in indiana you can't drive w/out a hood.. I guess all rotating assemblies need to be covered. ie: belts/fan/etc

In OH you can drive without a hood.Cause of the Hot Rod Super Nationals that come every Summer where I live[one of the top 5 biggest domestic car shows in the US http://www.3rdgen.org/ubb/eek.gif http://www.3rdgen.org/ubb/biggrin.gif],the police pretty much let you drive whatever the hell you want.Heck, they even ban left turns on the main road where they have the nightly cruises because of the all the sweet cars we get here.I've seen no hoods, funny car style slicks, wheelie bars, roal cages, and everything you can imagine, its sweet http://www.3rdgen.org/ubb/biggrin.gif
