Don't know about Cali, but here they can get you for noise polution, (and a few other violations I think) depends on the cop I guess. My friend got a $50 noise polution ticket for squealling the tires in his truck going around a corner.

I live in Cali. My friend had a 72 Javelin with a nice 304. He peeled out & got pulled over.

The official term is:

Exhibition of Speed

its a 2-pt violation.

I've also heard of "Exhibition of power" which i'm not clear on.

</font>Exhibition of power (I think) is doing a brake torque or something to display that you car has more balls, also such as reving you engine excessively. I would also guess that it could be riding without mufflers too.

Exhibition of speed is an offense in most states.

In most states it is severe enough to cause the loss of your liscense on one offense.

You can be charged of it for a number of things:

1. Drag racing
2. Speeding while onlookers are present
3. Street racing
4. Burnouts
5. Doughnuts
