Do cops have a favorite, or do they just go to whatever donut store is closest at the time?

Krispy Kreme, or some other chain? Local?

Do cops usually manage to get free donuts?
How many donuts does the average officer consume in a week?

When I worked at the State Police Barracks as a 911 Dispatcher 1977-87, the cops were crazy for donuts. There is a bakery in town and the days donuts came out at about 2 a.m. Yup, free donuts by the dozen..

Fast foward, the guys I know now really don't eat 'em. I don't, I'm a bagel man. Now almost all of us make sure we pay. Ethics and all ya know!

Donuts are good...especially Krispy Kreme. But they're also known as "gut bombs" so I try to disperse my donut-eating times throughout the year.

But here's an interesting thing...of the two police departments that I've worked in, I have not seen neither one with donuts around. Whether it'd just be in the break room or the briefing room. Nothing! Heck, I've had more donuts when I was at the Academy than when I hit the streets!!

Hmm...maybe we've been accustomed by Silicon Valley and grew from donuts and coffee into bagels and latte. http://www.3rdgen.org/ubb/biggrin.gif

Krispy Kreme is the shit. I had their donuts for the first time a couple weeks ago when I was in Sac for a TKD tourney and went with my g/f and her sister. They were the best donuts I've ever had.

There's a Krispy Kreme that just opened in Rochester around Christmas time. The friggin lines are still out the door at 9:00 pm. As soon as the newness wears off and the lines aren't so ridiculous, I'm gonna try it and see what the hype is all about.
