Politics are amazing. I'll never go back to retail. I would rather become homeless.
TO make a long story short, a few systems were purchased by a local school district with passwords that wouldn't let them in. I was able to fix all but 1, and we were unable to get parts in for the better part of a month. The manager was aware of this, but choose to do nothing.
That was until Monday or Tuesday when they called and bitched. A big sale probably hinged on fixing those systems fast, but he wouldn't authorize a replacement. I was sure he just wanted the blame firmly placed on someone else if shit came down about it. It turns out that wasnt even that simple.
I just got back from lunch with a friend there that worked in my department. The extent of it and their lies is shocking! The "person" (I use that term lightly for him) who is a tech at another store who is filling in for me was busy badmouthing me all day so I am told. (and can believe it) Saying things like "Look at this, I bet Brian sabatoged it." <img src="eek.gif" border="0"> Quite amazing, considering I thought he was a friend and he owes his job there to me.
It also just so happens that the person they are interviewing to replace me is his friend... Hmmmm... Coincidence?
Well I am finally free from that hell hole and almost certainly from the career stagnation that it brought.
