!!!MY CAR GETS A PAINT JOB NEXT MONDAY!!!
You can’t tell from the pic in my sig, but everything is oxidized except the hood.
Let me know how these mods sound and places to get the stuff! I hope to add a good +30HP to my car with these… does that sound reasonable?
Current Stereo:
-Panasonic CQ-DF600U (45W x 4, 23W RMS x 4)
-Boston Acoustics 6x9 3-way (12-140W per channel) (FX93)
-Infinity Reference Series 4x6 Plate 2-way (40W RMS, 120W Peak) (4652cfp)
-Alpine Amp (40 x 2) – It’s a POS. I picked it up for $30 open box.
-JBL Loud + Clear (12-200W per channel) (LC-S1200w)
Planned Performance Mods:
-BBK Throttle Body
-Cold Air Intake
-Possibly a HyperChip except they're not CA legal
-3.4L headers
-MSD Coil and 8mm wires
-Cold air induction (I probably won’t go with K&N, but an equivalent form of cold air induction)
Planned Stereo Mods:
-Q-Logic Kickpanel Enclosures
-Rockford Fosgate 5 1/4 Components

You'll probly get 20hp. The headers will help the most out of that stuff. Ported heads and a bigger cam would help a lot.

I got my car painted. It cost $1,400. That isn't too bad, but I was hoping for a little bit better detailing. They had overspray on my wheels and everything. That even sprayed my muffler and cat. Now the cat is smoking at normal operating temp. Not much I can do though. I'll post a new pick sometime... maybe when the sig's start working again. Now that my car looks great, it has decided not to run very well. I'm dumbfounded as to what it could be! I pulled out the distributor, marked everything so I could get it back in right, timed it to 10 degrees with the car in park and the a and b terminals jumpered. Then I pull the jumper out while the car is running and it's fine. AS soon as I go to start the car again with the jumper out, like when I left to go to work today, the timing had changed to about 7 or 8, all by itself and the car stalls every time I start to slow down! It didn't do this when right after I pulled the jumper out! I've tried going through all of the steps a few times now, with the same results every time.

Huh, that sucks. You need a timing light to get it set correctly though.

It's a 96 Firebird, 3.8 liter v6, still has factory sound system, power everything. My plans will be to drop a Corvette engine in there. If you guys recommend any particular type for this model then please let me know. Thanks. <img src="smile.gif" border="0">
