Since last sunday my car has been idling at 1,500-1,800RPM no matter how many times I restart it or run it. Anyone have any ideas on what I should check out on it?

forgot to say. It is a 94 V-6 with only a gutted CAT, 40 series flow master and a new air filter (high performance) All has been on the car for about 4 months.

You probly have a bad sensor and its idleing high because its in startup mode.

Is there a cheap way to get that fixed? It can't be good for my car and I don't have the money right now to spend on it. I just spent a large amount getting it to run again! Also, would you have a guess on what sensor it might be? Thank you

Well first check the plugs and wires. If there pretty old then replace them. Get a bottle of gas treatment and put in the gas tank. STP makes a good one, its in a silver bottle. Then disconnect the negative battery cable for about ten minutes. When you hook it back up and start the car the computer will re anylize the engine. Hopefully all of this will take care of it. If not you could have a dealer check it or get a code scanner and hook it up to the computer. The scanner runs about $30 and its a great tool to have. You might wanna check it with a scanner first. If its a bad sensor it will show on the scanner right away.

Thank you very much. I have done everything besides the sensor check. I will consider that in the near future. The car is running fine now so I will wait for it to act up again. Thank's again
