That's depressing. What year car was that?

It's an '87. I know, it's extremely depressing, espcecially considering that it's got some minor mods too. Homemade ram air/forced induction with K&N's, and an aftermarket muffler. No muscle car genre automobile should be even close to that slow. At least GM smartened up and dropped the 4 cylinder in '84, more than I could say for Ford.

They should've used 3.8's for the v6 cars. The 2.8 is the smallest six they ever made. 3.8's have some balls.

Yeah, 3.8L is a pretty decent V6 size. Although I don't believe that any muscle car should have anything but a V8. It's like people who order a fucking emperor size king meal from Carl's Jr. and then get a Diet Pepsi. It's just a joke.

You have to realize GM's position. The top motor was the TPI 350 with 245 hp. The next step down was a 305 with approx. 210. Then the base model 305 TBI had to be less than any TPI motor so it was at around 170 hp. If GM used a 3.8 in thirdgens, the 6 would be faster than LG4's TBI's and some 305 TPI's. The top of the line motor and the base motor can't be similar in performance. TPI 350- 245 hp. 2.8 V6- 140 hp. About a 100 hp difference. LT1/LS1- around 300 hp. 3.8 V6- 200 HP, again, a 100 hp difference.

Well an 88 3.8 has 150hp. The 88 2.8 has 135hp. Not much difference I guess. I agree all f bodies should have V8's. That's how the vettes are. They all have 350's.
