I want to know what the best idea for an amp would be to push 2 Alpine Type-R DVC 10's. They are 300 RMS and 1000 MAX(for those who aren't fimiliar with them) Im having a hard time finding a decent priced yet good quality amp that will make them perform the way they should. If any one can help a little, that would be great.<br /> 1bad6

Kicker, nuff said. Rated 90x2 for about $400 but actually plays about 150-160

lets see.....i've had jensen, sony, kraco, fosgate, and all the other crappy amps since my teen years.....since i started installing i've been blessed with some knowledge. (not as much as jim, it seems ;) ) i love alpine amps for their clarity on mid drivers and tweeters, but , in my opinion, i wouldn't recommend them for bass, unless you're going for sQ (sound quality) they're just too damn clear for a bass driver.....i ran kicker all the way up to the dx750, and was very impressed with them, i do not, however, like the looks of the new ones, i'm sure they're just as beefy and efficient, but i think they look rather chessy.....i'm running a 8100 class D mtx to two kicker L7 12's.....when i first heard the 8100 d, i fell in love with it, it has huge amounts of power, and throws the kickers around all day long.....i'm not sure what new mtx products are out there ( i don't install anymore) but, i prefer my 8100 d. if you can afford it, xtant just came out with a monster of an amp.....you might look into that.....the only thing i don't like about my 8100 d is that it makes a hissing noise from the cooling fan that is in sync with the alternator voltage output..... mtx says this should eventually go away, but i've been running it hard for a year now, and it has yet to disappear.....i've also replaced grounds, power cable, rca's, and alternators to no avail.....good luck!

another vote for Kicker here. The ZR240 is an amazingly powerful amp for the money. If you need more than that, step up to the ZR600
Of course, I think their new lineup has new model names. :conf:
