What have people done do get bass from the well of a 3rd Gen Camaro? I've got a '90 RS and I need more bass!!! Right now I have a piece of particleboard lying across the well with one 12” in it facing up… but that sucks! It rattles and doesn’t hit very hard. I’m hitting it with 120W, and I know it can sound good, I barrowed a bow from a friend for a while and had it in the, but I don’t want a box to take up part of my back seat, contrary to common belief, the back seat is good for some things! Mostly carrying crap I can’t throw in the truck because of the piece of particleboard. Let me know, dimensions or shops, in or around the Bay Area, would be best! If I do end up building a box, I’ll post dimensions and pictures, but I don’t have the time to build a box!

Try putting a sas bazooka tube in the back.
I have a buddy who has a 10 bazooka tube with an Alpine amp and it sounds good.
If that isn't an option try here alothttp://iroc.fbody.com/subwoofer.html

I may have to buy something from http://iroc.fbody.com/subwoofer.html. I like the way they look. I still want to do some really cool custom box, but i don't have the time or skills to do so...

ive got a box that wedges in where the well is but only goes down about half way... it sits flush and i have 2 12" subs pointed up... the amp, crossover, and fuse box all sit on the bottom of the well.. but since the box doesnt go all the way down they have room to breath. and of course nothing rattles.

When it comes to 3rd gens, direction is everything. Which way you fire your subs will have the greatest effect on sound quailty and how mych your car rattles. First of all. GET RID OF THAT PIECE OF PARTICLE BOARD. They are horrible. Get yourself a sealed box. They are so much better. Now here comes the fun part. You have several options...

1)fire the subs up towards the glass.
This is what most people do. It makes OK sound but the rear hatch tends to RATTLE like crazy.

2)Fire the subs back.
This makes better sound, but rattleing is still a problem. This is the best way to go if you are going to run a single sub.

3)Fire the subs down.
This is the way I like to go. It makes great sound and doesnt rattle much at all. The only problem is that you need a large box to make this work well. You need to fire the subs down into the well in the trunk. However, you have to have only a small hole for the air to exit the well. This set up gives you almost a bandpass setup.

I know that some of this stuff is hard to understand, but it is hard to explain it without being able to show you what I am talking about. If you are unclear on what I have said, just let me know and I will try to explain better.

I have the 10" Infinity Basslink Subwoofer in my car.... I pulled the spare tire out and made a platform to mount it to so it takes up no storage space, plus it is conceiled..... It has built in amp, built in crossover and pre outs..... I got it off of ebay for 230.00

go on thirdgen.org and talk to a guy named rezn8er, I just got a custom box built by him for 1 10" that sits on the passenger side of the well. Good quality shite, he has alot of pics, and can build pretty much anything you want. Great guy to do bussiness too!
