Has any one built or bought a custom sub enclosure for a 3rd gen? I have a '90 RS and want to either build or buy a box for my car... Specs would be great. I've talked to the local stores and they don't make any custom enclosures for 3rd gens and the boxes they have don't fit. I would like to put 2 12"s, but I guess 2 10"s will work if i can't fit 2 12"s.

A friend of mine help me build a box for two eclipse 12" subs. I dont' really know the specs of the box so i can't really give you much help. If I could do it again i would definitely build it out of 3/4" mdf instead of crappy 1/2" plywood(bad idea). We also didn't really pay close attention to the specs for a box for the subs. I believe the box should go all the way to the bottom of the well. Mine stopped at the little knotches in the well.
If i remember correctly, custom built boxes cost about $150-200 at local car audio shops, but they usually have to order them.

Hey, I've got a box in my '86 with two 10's pushing 800 watts. Sounds great. Just about any shop will build or order them for around 150 bucks. I go to Houston Car Stereo on Hillcroft and also A-1 just north of that. Both pretty good shops.

well... i'll talk to some custom car audio places and see what they could do. If not, i'll build it myself and take pictures and get specs so others can build a box that fits well in 3rd gen.

Hey... I might be able to drag up the autocad specs I made on a subwoofer Box I made for my lil bro's 92 Formula.. I dunno how well it'll match the trunk of a 90 RS.. but I'll see what I can do..
However, its on my computer at my home in Houston, and I'm at school here at Texas Tech in Lubbock,
my brothers SN is Ktulu14 on AOL....
give him a hollar maybe he can find the autocad file on the comp there
It made a BADASS box, I plotted all the specifications for beveled edges, angles cut on the corners, everything. All you should have to do is take a big piece of 1/2in-3/4 in MDF and cut it on a table saw and seal and screw the pieces together, wrap it in carpet, or paint it, and then drop in your subs. the box was for 2 10"s however

i have a 1989 RS Camaro 305 v8 w/ tbi
and 3.73 rear diff.
do you guys know of any modification i can do to my car. i would like to keep the gas milage if not increase it... (im getting 20mpg on the highway w/ the A/C on.)
i dont want to do anything that will mess up the engine or the computer.
im getting ready to put on a highflow catalitic converter w/ 2.5" exhaust pipe to a flowmaster 40 series with dual outlet pipes to keep the tail pipe in stock location.

I'll drag up the autocad file they sent me. I also found a way to fit two 12"'s... Everybody said it would sound like crap, but it sounds tight, you just have to get a good set of subs!!! I'll post some pics and dimensions for what I did soon...
