Hello all. This is my first post and i am just pretty excited to talk with fellow 3rdgen enthuisist. No need to bore you with banter so I will get to the problem. I have a 1985 TA with a rebuilt chevy 350 in leu of the factory 305. I have a quadrajet carb and as far as I know the original tranny. I am new to the whole turning wrenches thing but I am learning. My problem is this. When I punch the gas the car seems to "sputter" for a lack of better termonology before taking off. I cant even break traction. After I do get going there is a clattering sound after first gear and the more load I put on the engine the louder it gets. I have owned a car that eventually threw a rod and this isnt that sound. I am guessing its the valves. I am open to any comment, questions, or suggestions.<br />Thanks
