How much work would be involved in putting the TPI on the LT-1? A guy I know has one from a 96 Z-28 and has no use for it, my car has a 305 tpi with the smaller cam. Just curious what will interchange and how much if any machine work is involved, like tapping the heads for the other bolts in the intake??

Wouldnt keeping the LT1 intake be a much much better idea?

All that he has is the long block, no intake or exhaust manifolds.
How about the cam? Will it work in the '89??

The intake from an LT1 will not fit on our cars and TPI intakes will not work on LT1. LT1 heads are reverse flow and the heads are 23 degree where ours are 18...I think, it could be the opposite. There is no way to make it work without swapping the complete motor, wiring, and injection.

I have seen it on other webpages, but can't remember the links.

Hello all,
Yes, it is possible to swap an LT1 intake onto a L98 block. The LT1 intake does require some fairly major modification. A guy named John Millican has figured out how to do this and has a tech article on his website. The address is http://members.home.net/millicanga/. John gained .4 in the quarter over his fully ported tpi setup. The swap has been called the poor man's miniram. As for swapping a tpi intake onto a LT1 block, why? It would hurt performance.
