View Full Version : What is wrong when the brakes are hard?

They work OK but i cannot lock them up. The harder i push the harder the pedal gets. I just replaced the pads and calipers, and also just had the rotors turned. Could it have anything to do with the rear brakes because I have not done them yet.<br />Thanks, Gary

well. one time i accidently unplugged the vacumm going to the master cylinder. and i had hard brakes. make sure it is pluged in and if it is do a vacumm check

Your problem is probably the rear brakes if they are drum. In a front disc rear drum setup, the pedal "give" is provided by the rear brake pistons. If they are blown out or seized than you can get the super firm pedal without super firm braking.

He has four wheel disc, formulas all had 4 wheel disc along with the rest of the WS6 goodies.

If you have the 9 bolt rear with rear discs than your problem is shared with many a 3rd gen owner. As soon as you figure the problem, please let me know. See my thread at 9 bolt rear.
