Fuel Pump Problem?

I have gotten an 87 Z28 with the 305 TPI motor. Today when I tried to start it, it just turns over & will not try to fire. All the connections look ok, but I noticed a strong smell of gas, but could find no visible leaks. Is this the fuel pump, or some other problem?

I had that same problem. For me it was the Ignition Control Module. Also check the pick-up coil in the distributor.
