My 2000 Trans Am (automatic) manual says don't exceed 55 mph in 2nd or you can damage the engine (p 2-34). The rpm at 55 is 3400 and redline is ~5800 so this has got to be a typo right. Sure you can damage it if you drive 25 miles in 2nd at 55 but not by just accelerating to redline during full acceleration, right?
