I have an 86 iroc and the cooling fan won't come on unless the a/c is on or it is in diagnostic mode. I have replaced the coolant temp. sensor and the computer for a totally different problem. It worked before I replaced the computer so I took the new one back and got another one and it did the same thing. There are two sensors on the intake and I replaced the smaller two prong cts. I need help!

thanks<br />David

easy fix is to wire in a switch tot he relay for the fan i had to do that on my gfs rs fan wouldnt come on till like 200 something and the car would overheat in traffic now the relay causes an open ground to shut the fan off and closes ground to turn it on so what u have to do is wire the ground so its always grounded then find the 12 volt switch side of the relay and run a wire to a toggle switch from there just tap inot an unused circut in the fuse block that way works on a single fan setup not sure how to do it if u have dual fans but should be pretty much the same thing after doign it on my gfs car and droping in a 180% thermostat the car runs down very cool all the time since we leave the fan on all the time unles scrusing on the highway
