Timing?

After I pulled by distributor to replace the p/u coil, I screwed up the timing... Does any one have detailed instructions about how to do it on a '90 RS? My Chilton’s manual doesn't help because there is all kinds of crap I have to take off to get to the #1 spark plug to feel for compression... is there a better way?

Its simple...first you should have a in line plug next to the passanger side strut tower..this is where the car connects the ecm to control timing..then loosen the nut on the back of the dist. and turn it till it seems to idle correctly..if u wanna be precise get a timing light..then tighten the nut and plug the plug back up...
