Ok, I'm a Mustang owner and driver..but I'm thinking about buying this Camaro. its a 91 RS with the TBI 305 in it.. Its in good order, only needs minor asthetic things done, but there are no major mechanical problems. The car has been well kept and has 86000 'highway' miles on it. It has been garage kept all except the past 2 years. Its the aoutomatic transmission and I loved the feel in the test drive.

Since I know next to nothing about Camaros, or any GM for that matter, I was wondering inf $4000 is a good price for this car, and what your thoughts are on TBI. This will mostly be a daily driven car and not have major mods done to it.

That's a very clean car, but I'd watch out for the paint job. Maaco doesn't have the best reputation for a lasting painting. Depending on how much you like/want the car, $4000 seems in the ballpark. The 305 TBI isn't a screamer, but add a new cam, heads, and manifold, and you'd have a good 13 second car.

4000 for a clean 1991 Rs is definitely in the ballpark.

Just see what you can get him down to anyways... If he asks 4, hell settle for less.

As far as the TBI, if this is a car you want to mod, look elsewhere. For the same $$$, you can get a TPI car that will respond much better, and be faster stock to boot.

If you are looking for a good solid, reliably, resonable gas daily driver/cruiser, go for it. But don't buy it for what it isn't, as it will be easier and more cost effective to look for a performance car to start with...

well.. like I said, I know the TBI isn't much on performance. But, this is to be a daily driver. Making it a 13 sec car wouldn't be feasable to me if I'm gonna drive it to work daily. Besides, I already have a 13 second car to play with :D

The guy says firm, but I'm gonna work on him some.

I think it's a good deal, if it runs as good as it looks. TBI isn't that bad, you can still get some good mods on it and still be pretty fast if you eventually decide to, even for a daily driver.
