Well, I replaced the heater core in my 1992 Camaro 1LE/B4C (MY what a FUN job THAT was!) and had to disassemble the WHOLE dash to the point that it is basically hanging by the wires!

My problem is this:

When I reassembled the dash and turned the vent/ac on, no matter where I set the control unit, (max, vent, heat, defrost, etc..) air ONLY comes out of the defroster holes and the little side vents that blow on the windows. Nothing blows out of the vents on the dash. I have tried EVERYTHING I can imagine, and the ONLY thing I can assume is that there is some valve, or "flapper" inside where the heater core is that is stuck in that mode, but I have NO idea how or what to do....

I am SURE several of you have done this lovely job, and have knowledge of this issue, so PLEASE.. HELP!!!!! Please email me a solution!

Thanks in advance!

The flapper doors are operated by a vacuum line which moves it to different positions. The defroster setting is where the doo rnaturally sits when no vacuum is applied. You probably just pulled a vacuum line out somewhere when you had the dash apart. Check behind the a/c control panel and under the dash on the passengers side.
