View Full Version : why does 700r4 not downshift to 1st gear?

I looked at my gf's '86 Z-28 today. Well I actually drove it... It does not downshift into 1st gear even if you do it manually. When you put it in Park, it starts off in 1st gear, but when you stop at the light or floor it, it does not go to the 1st gear?

the only time i've ever had trouble downshifting is when i tried to make the tranny shift more firm with the tv cable...

So is the general oppinion that TH350 goes in and 700R4 comes out?

I guess I'll pull it out with LG4 :rolleyes:
