I have a 1990 3.1L fuel injected automatic with air conditioning. It has been stalling for about two weeks now whenever I slow down. It tends to start occurring when the engine is half way between cold and normal operating temp, 220. Sometimes it does stall before it reaches the half way mark. I just had it tuned and that didn't do any good. Some people think it may be the transmission, but it will sometimes stall out when it is just sitting idling in park. When I spray carburetor cleaner at the injectors toward the back of the passenger (left) bank it makes the tach go down. Before it started stalling it would rev at about 500-600 when warm… Is this normal? Now the tach jumps all over the place… Any ideas would be very appreciated! I don’t know what to do other than to possibly replace the fuel injector o-rings to start…

Had a problem like this once on a 2.8 FI celebrity....
1. Check spark plug wires. They may be old enough to be giving it up.
2. Check your coil.
3. Check your stater in your distributor (stater is that copper wire wound disk under the rotor... I've had two of them give it up; one in my 86 Fiero, and one in my celebrity. The Fiero just quit (once I got to look at it, God only knew how it had lasted as long as it had) and the celebrity acted exactly like you discribe.
It's a relatively easy replace, but AFAIK, the distributor has to come out to make the repair. If that's the problem, make sure you get a new distributor o-ring before you put it back in... or you'll leak oil from where the distributor comes out of all places.

carbon build up on your EGR valve causing exhaust gasses to enter at LOOOW speed causing stubling or stalling. you COULD take it apart and clean the 3 valves or try a few tanks with some fuel injector cleaner to "wash" away the carbon. BTW, a new EGR valve for your car is around $300. i'm almost positive this is your problem.
