What are all the steps one must take to remove and engine from the car and place a new one in. Say the engine is the 330hp/350ci engine from GM. I dont want all the computer stuff just enough to make it run. my brothers will be helping me but just want to know what I am looking forward to this summer/fall when i have the money.

alot http://www.3rdgen.org/ubb/wink.gif

Seriously though, here's a few things off the top of my head...
disconnect battery
drain radiator
disconnect radiator hoses
remove radiator for clearance
disconnect fuel lines
disconnect all sensors / harness connections
disconnect emissions hoses etc
disconnect exhaust from manifolds
remove air conditioning and lay lines and pump off to the side if you plan on re-using it (if it has air that is)
place a jack under the trans for support
remove bellhousing bolts
remove torque converter bolts from flywheel (I'd highly recommend using a flywheel turning tool...vice grips are a bad idea)
bolt a chain to opposite sides of the heads
remove motor mount bolts
hoist motor out slowly checking for any missed connections since there always seems to be someting that ya forgot.

Guess that's all I can think of at work
Good luck

BTW, I'm looking forward to the same thing...I'll be doing the engine and trans swap in my car as soon as it starts warming up here.

Hard to go wrong with a GM crate 350 http://www.3rdgen.org/ubb/smile.gif
