What exactly does it do, i was showing some giy my engine, he pulled my valve off and showed me how grimey it was, i replaced it with a Purolater PCV and it seems to ride smoother about 75mph then it did before.

PCV valves releas preasure that builds up in your oil pan. I f the preasure in the pan gets to high it will blow out the gaskets and you will lose oil preasure quick! and you know what that means.
