I swapped a V8 in to my V6 car, and the V8 ran fine in the other car. I hooked up everything like it should have been from the factory. Now the TBI feeds A HELL of a lot of fuel into the motor, Ive rebuilt the TBI, and it still does it. Is there a chance that and EFI fuel pump is Different from a TBI fuel pump? Has Anyone had this problem? Does Anyone know how to fix the problem?
Thanks

the V6 fuel pump has the same pressure as a Tpi car around 56-60 psi i believe the stock TBI pumps are rated for a max of 20-25psi just adjust the fuel pressure with the regulator its very simple to make it adjustible on tbi

oh and why do you want to convert to carb? tbi can do anything a carb can and more
its not the tbi holding you back if thats what your thinking the tbi's intake manifold sucks its exhaust manifolds suck the rest of the exhaust sucks and the cam is small
i converted my Tbi to Tpi and i picked up around 15 hp but 70 torque at the wheels and thats with the stock exhaust but thats because tpi is a better manifold for makeing torque
put some headers on and get a carb manifold with tbi adapter and you will see some good gains

TBI heads are the suck ass, along withthe exhaust , the fuel pump you have now shouldn't be a problem i just changed the one in my caprice with a vortec one and it runs 100 times better , the regulator will make the pressure what it wants , but now you have plenty of flow.
