Tranny not shifting outa 1st well

Yeah so I get in my car the other day and find that my tranny isn't wantin to shift properly. The best way I have found to get it to shit is to put it in neutral and then back into OD. My one buddy said it was the tv cable and my other buddy said it is the downshift cable. I heard that those are the same thing. Any advice especially advice that comes with pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Pending on what kinda of car you have. I had an 85 Camaro and had similar problems. It was a 700R4 tranny and the rubber piece of the vacuum line that goes into the modulator on the back of the tranny was rotted. So there was no vacuum and it wouldn't shift out of first till about 40 mph. Replaced the hose and it worked fine. Give it a look see how it is.

UM! Irk sorry to burst your bubble but 700R4's do not have a vaccuum modulator. they have a TV cable and a 4 pin electrical connector only.
