Well imo get a sub enclosure that will fit inside the hole in the cargo area. That has worked pretty well for me. I also stuffed by enclosure with polyester.. Your choice on that deal :). I am running 1 1600 watt amps and 2 12 subs and all stock speakers and the bass is awesome but it is also very clear. Hope this helps.

But I do agree with Dstaley I would much rather listen to the rumble of the exhaust !!!

SPL?

What car do you have? Year, make, model...pretty much the standard questions...

I would go with a box that's firing off the rear hatch...probably 2 or 3 12" subs...around 1500-2000 watts. I ran 2 12" alpine type R's and hit 151 db's.

the box is the most important thing really (I was an spl competitor in IASCA USAC and CMAA) for sub brands I like critical mass, rockford, image dynaimcs, powerbass, and db drive. Alpine will be ok, but they get expensive to get the high spl ones. I have 1 powerbass 12 in my grand prix and I hit 130 db with a small 500 watt amp. Now when I competed I ran 16 15's in a mini van and was hiting 170 db (running lanzar before they sold the name) and a friend of mine was right with me running rockford's
