I just purchased a '91 RS 305/auto car. The tachometer never shows lower than 2000 rpm and is usually between 4-6000 when driving around town. Normally with an aftermarket tach, I would say the switch is set to 4 cylinder, but this is the factory in dash tach. Any ideas?

there is a topic in thirdgen.org about this you need to add a resistor to it as the factory resistor burns out if you take apart your gauge cluster behind the tach there is a small board that has a black and white chip on it that is the resistor that fails
mainly from gm being cheap with these cars back then

We don't choose what we see or how long we get to see it, so just enjoy what we see while we see it.
