Built 305tbi

I need to re-build my motor for my 1992 RS. I figure I might as well get the same motor but bore it, put all the HP goodies on it, new ignition, etc. etc. then swap it before mine goes caputt. What say you?

Who's got a pretty fast 305tbi and how is it built? What did you do to it? I'm not looking for 400 horses but 250+ is my goal if possible. I don't want to have to do a whole bunch of other sh*t to the car because I've made more power and have to get the power to the pavement without breaking drivetrain shtuff!

There is no point in putting any money in a 305.

The best use for a 305 is as a boat ancor (fuck can't spell) If I were you I'd go with a used LT1 to start with and work your way up with modifying that, the only engin that is as worthless as the LO3 is the LG4 carborated 305

well if he did it right i could see 13's out of it.. or it could just be a pos. My boat anchor is now a display that actually sells other engines. Spray paint and degreaser does wonders...

lol yea the 302 or 289 is a real beast now isnt it....

yea best idea would be to get rid of the 305 all together and lose the TBI....an easy thing to do is maybe put an performer RPM intake and an edelbrock 600 on top of a 350 then just heads and cam....if your looking for fuel injection the mini ram or stealth ram are both good choices....www.tpis.com tpis makes the miniram....holley makes the stealth ram....

but yea standard mods for any small block...intake, heads, and cam..if your a 5 speed then the T5 wont stand up to alot of power neither will the stock rear end...

the LT1 or LS1 swap is a huge pain in the ass in my opinion and a small block can do just as much (performance wise) for cheaper anyway....
