Congrats you two on your purchase. Looks very comfy but I'm wondering who gets to park in the garage. And what does "small dog on premises" mean? It comes with the house? Woof

Any suggs on a garage floor? The floor is almost brand new and we would hate to mess it up. We were thinking plastic interlocking tiles, but that was wayyyy to much. We also looked into that "U coat it" stuff with the flakes and it seems nice for the price. Also looked into nature stone but that was expensive as well. We were also thinking of garage cabinets. Any suggestions on that too which are reasonably priced?

dude, jsut paint the floor with grey oil based paint...F the exotic stuff. Cabinets...hmm you can get the old Tune-up cabinets, expensive, or find some that people took out of their kitchen. What do the craftsman wall cabinets run?

Will be have peeling like we have now with grey oil based on my current floor? Seems the tires always lift the shit up.

I used the rust-o-leum kit with the flakes from home depot on my floor. Piece of cake to do and turned out great. Downside for you would be the temperature since your moving in march. The floor has to be warm enough before you apply the coating. Also it takes 7 days before you can put a car on it.

As far as cabinets go i just picked up a couple cheap unfinished ones from home depot as well. Then just painted them to match the garage. Or you can find someone who just re-modeled their kitchen and get those cabinets and paint them. Thats what we did for my dads garage.

Josh, that product looks great. I am sure we will not be laying it down till mid summer as we are BROKE and cant even afford Arbys now LOL. But the price is alot better compared to the other products. The kit at lowes wa slike 65-70 bucks. Does that have all the materials and would we need 1 or 2 kits?

lol, get used to that with having a house now. We just payed our property taxes which took a big chunk of change. Unless your working that into your mortgage.

One kit does a 1 car garage. Youll need to get 2 kits. They do have kits though that can do a 2.5 car garage, i didnt see those though until i had already done my floor. Mine came with everything, including the etching chemical you need to clean the floor. Only thing you will need is a hard bristle brush to scrub the floor with before you paint it. It goes even quicker if you get a few people involved. My dad and I rolled down the paint while Joelle followed with the flakes. We had the whole thing painted in a 1/2 hour. I recommend taking a brush and painting in-between the expansion cuts first though. If you dont paint in-between those its noticeable after your done. I had to go back and do mine after the paint was dry enough to walk on.

BTW, did you get a home warranty? Im really glad we did, our water heater blew after being in the house only 3 months. Without that warranty that would of cost us $500.

Mkos1980
01-31-2007, 10:25 AM
Oh ok, I'll look into that. Yes we are going to escrow our taxes. Comes to about 1250 a month lol. Anyway, the house does come with a warrentee that the homeowner paid for. We lucked out on that one.

This house was just too nice and new to pass up. Within the last 2 years, it has a new furnace, hot water heater, AC unit, driveway, garage floor, roof, leafguard gutters, Anderson windows and doors, All NEW appliances in the kitchen, new floor in the kichen, cabinets, corian countertops, blinds, carpet, paint, landscaping, shed, all new tiled bathroom and a new patio enclosures room in the back.. and the list goes on. (Theres even a kitchen and full bathroom in the basement)

When I went back for the inspection within the 7 days of signing, it came up flawless. She showed us all receipts which = $54,160

Her husband died recently and she said I got everything all done at once so she wouldnt have to worry about anything in the future.... Well now she said house is too big and shes dumping it to move into module home in streetsboro.

Josh, when I was looking at Parmas taxes they seemed extremely high. Is there a reasoning for that or is it just common?

Its typical for Parma Heights. Their taxes are high but the houses are more affordable to make up for it. I've been told its because Parma Heights is small and has no major industry or companies to bring in tax dollars, so they get it from the homeowners.

Right now ive got 5 of the 4 foot long overhead flouresent fixtures. 2 towards the back of the garage, 2 in the middle, and 1 over my workbench. Each one holds 2 bulbs. And honestly its still not bright enough for me. Im probably going to add 2 more fixtures towards the garage door. Good thing is they are cheap, only $5-7 for the fixtures.

Well, this friday we are going to be ordering our 2 couches, 5 tables, erins "special cabinet " she wants and some other misc stuff. I cant believe how much this stuff adds up too lol.

OH the Cub Cadet gets delivered next week ;) I got a screaming deal on it as its a 5 hour 06 Demo model. My dad knows a guy in Mansfield who owns a dealer. Its a 48in Cut 20HP Kohler, Hydrostatic drive and all the bells and whistles. Let see if we can modify it ;)

(BTW they do sell K&N filters for it, a custom tubular exhaust pipe , cams, and aluminnum head for the Kohlers. LOL plus a bunch of other stuff but its mostly for the small class of tractor pulling)

When we bought our house in Peninsula in 2005, we bought a Cab Cadet also. Overall it is pretty good but it likes to throw the main drive belt when the mower deck is at low setting went I first start it up. When its warmed up it does not do this. We have the 1050 model, 50" cut with 26HP Kohler. (we have about 1.5 acres of just grass) Also, the seat safety is a PIA. I was able to deactive it by just unpluging the two connectors at the seat rail. Does yours have the deck wash? Our does and I guess it works OK but I still have to remove the deck and scrape it out about twice during the year.

Welcome to the world of being house poor. Man could you imagine we kind of cars we’d have if we did not have a house payment. :eek3:

Congrad's on the house.

Mkos1980
02-06-2007, 10:59 AM
I take that back for me. Its a 46in cut. LT 1045. Yes it has the pressure wash, but I am only cutting about a half acre so I hope it does ok. PLus its only 800 bucks. Heck yea its bad being broke. Fortunatly everything has been paid for in cash so after buying all our stuff for the house, were just stuck with the house payment, the Truck Payment and Erins Cougar Payment. Still credit card debt free, but we'll see how long that lasts lol

87IROC Z

$800 is a great deal. We paid $2000 for our's. I bet it will only take you 20 to 30 minutes to cut the grass. I can cut our yard completely in about an hour and ten minutes.

So far so good. The house was in move in condition except a few things that bugged me. When the house was redone, everything but the front closet and the 3 closets in the bedrooms were painted. They looked like complete ass with half ass shelves which I ripped all out and patched the holes and repaint a nice semi gloss white. So far i have 2 of the 4 closets done. We also had only 3 of the 14 shut off water valves in the house that worked so I called my buddy who works for northcoast plumbing and he cut out every valve in the house out and replaced with all new ball valves. We also added a nice double wash tubs and new plumbing for that. There was two cheap walls in the basement that had like 5 layers of peneling board since their dog kept chewing it out. I ripped out those walls and redid them nice. I replaced all the fugly outlsets and covers with new white ones along with new on off switches for the lights.

I picked up an awesome drill this weekend. I got a Hitachi Pro-Grade cordless drill. 1/2in solid steel chuck, 18V and 550lbs tq. Thing is a monster LOL Other then that, I have the other closets to do, add in some elec outlets in my tool room, replace a banister and replace about 5 boards that have rotten out on the shed.
