Hey, where did you get your vig from and how much? Cheapest I can find is around 725-750ish. And what stall? I'm getting a 4L60E all redone up and I'm looking for a new converter now. Are you happy with it? Did you consider any others?

EDGE makes good converters

Cash, I have been looking over those as well and havent seen anything negative about them. I may eventually go with their 9.5in Lockup.

I got the Vig through Byrne over on CZ28 for $700. I have no complaints but it's pretty mild, only a 2,400. Whichever brand you go with, do research because there are some shoddy knock offs for cheaper.

Jay, what was the cost to get the 4L redone?

It was around a grand for the rebuild and the Transgo kit with a couple other upgrades. I'll have to dig up the receipt. It also came with a one year warranty with as much thrashing as I could throw at it!

I got quoted around 1200 for bulletproof from Janis (where we got erins done) Hes like We use top of the line everything and listed a whole slew of stuff from new planetary gears to shells and some 5 bolt pump vs 2 bolt pump. He said you'll be good to 650 HP.

That sounds like a good deal. Rossler wanted almost 3K for a bullet proof 4L60 when I priced one there. Gary's Transmission did a great job on the 4L60E in the wagon, so I had no problem with them doing the 4L60 in the Z as well and saved a few $$$ too. I did make sure that they rebuilt my original transmission because the earlier 700R4's are prone to many problems!

one of the guys over at rubbercityracing.com is running an EDGE converter in his impala, he loves it. he had a pretty much bone stock LT1 impala running mid 12's on nothing more then that converter, DR's and some traction mods.

I also ried them 1295 for street strip, 1999 for stage 2 and 2395 for the top of the line.

Well I called up Edge today and spoke with Andre. Seemed like an awesome guy. I ended up getting a 2800 9.5 Unit as there may be a cam upgrade in the future ;) Should work good with the new 4L60E as well.
