If the exhaust is stock: on the y-pipe!

if it has after market headers, look for an 02 bung somewhere on the header near the collector and the y-pipe if it has one.. If the header doesn't have an 02 bung it may be advisable to weld one in.. unless u plan on switching to carb...

it does have headers but, there is no bung. However , i cant even find wires for the sensors i Know the car has to have them to run well. Thats why im asking because she isnt runnin so hot.The guy i bought the car from was kind of a hack when he built it , so I dont even know where to start. where would the stock y-pipe be located? near the bell housing? Thanks for the reply.

first off do you have shorties, long tubes etc? The stock Y-pipe comes down from the original exhaust mainfolds and dumps out on the passenger side of the car..

The O2 sensor bung should be on the drivers side of the car..

The y-pipe looks similar to the ones in the following picture..

Again the bung is in the drivers side of the Y-Pipe..

Yup, there is definitely nothing in the y-pipe. From the headers back it looks like everything was redone at a exhaust shop. The headers are hedman long tubes. Does anyone know how i can fix this problem? There are no wires and there are no 02 sensors.

you have a y-pipe with long tubes? You would anyone run a cat back with long tubes?

Anyway.. depending whther you really have long tubes or shorties you can have them machined..

Summit sells O2 bungs for like five bucks,, get a drill and a cheap welder.

If the exhaust was stock it is NOT in the y pipe but is in the driver side manifold. If you have shorty headers, it should be in the driver side header same with long tubes. The wire is purple with a pigtail connector. The other wire which goes with this wire is a green one which is connected to the coolant temp guage sensor located in the driver side head between 1 and 3
