hey everybody! i just got my first camaro, actually my first v8, rear wheel drive, and coup. its a 1991 z28 with the 5.7 350. I also just started auto school so im looking to make this car a project car. its not a daily driver, going into storage for the winter in my buddies garage so i can still work on it. I was just looking for some sugestions on what to do first performance wise. im on a bit of a budget for this winter but i wanna make sure i go about this wisely, so that i get the best bang for my buck. thanx for the help guys!

Sell it and buy something else, unless you like pouring money into something that you can never get it back from.

Either whats been stated above,, or

Camshaft, and either Change the tpi to another system or spend a shit load and upgrade it. Oh and headers.. the stock logs suck..

Being an 91 the chances are pretty good its a L05 TBI not the TPI but.....

nope, i DEFFINATLY checked that out. its an L98 TPI. So ya'll dont like the tpi huh, i was gonna go with the Holly stealth ram, but what are my options if i wanna get away from TPI altogether?

-get aftermarket heads or the aluminum L98 heads from a Corvette
-ZZ4 cam or a custom grind cam
-bigger stall converter (prob. 2,800-3,200)
-shift kit
-save up for a 12 bolt
-either a Holley Stealth Ram or get the TPI system re-worked....ported out, siamesed runners....etc....TPI sucks
-get a REAL tune, not an off the shelf chip
-headers (long tubes if you want to do a true dual setup)
-24lb injectors
-!air, !egr, !a/c (all free mods of coarse)
-gut your air box (the stock intake set up works well but the fins inside the air box are very restricting)

Being that it is a TPI,, the biggest restriction on the engine is your Intake runners, baseplate, and of course the exhaust manifolds.. The reason tpi sucks is that everything in it was measured out for a 305... So for you its shit load of restrictions other wise its not that bad.. Just old and expensive..
