eh i didnt win anything. I dont understand how they do the judging though. 5 people took home plaques in the 82-86 street class. I know my car is far from being perfect but i have a feeling they classified my car wrong. I was watching those judges go over my car and once they looked underneath and started talking, i think they realized i had more than 6 mods. Those classifiers didnt know what they were lookin at eitherl I probably should of been in modified. I wanna request my point sheet and see what really needs work. Over the summer I got a few paint quotes. This place calleds Classic autobody in cleveland quoted me 3k, he seemed decent and went over my car real good. Then i talked to a guy that banks with matt and he quoted me 6k and he wasnt going to take apart anything or hit spots that the classic guy mentioned. I have to do some more investigating. It was nice talkin to you too and congrats on the win :)

On the classes I think street class is a harder class then modified, because you’re restricted on the amount of things you can do to your car and the rest is how clean it is, the most difficult class is stock to me anyway, basically the cleanest car wins. Next time you get classified just tell them modified, if that’s were you want to be. I talked to my paint guy i think he would be around 4k and that’s removing all ground effects and cutting in door jambs, he said he would need to see the car I person to give a finial though,, I your not to busy one day or the weekend to show it to him and talk to him on what you want to do e.g. stripes, straight paint or whatever he said he would glad to talk to you...let me know...later Jason

Every year this show seems to upset somebody and this year was no differant. I spoke with a few people who had friends that said they would not attend because of the way the show is run. I was at the falls cruise on Monday and the president of the NEOCC was there so I asked him some question about how they ran the show.

As for the awards, they buy enough awards just to cover the top 3 cars in each class. This year they had 8 classes with no cars. So what they do is they add 4th and 5th place to some of the other classes but not all and hand out as many awards as they can. My responce was that people don't know this and it needs to be explained.

One thing that was differant this year was they had 3 judging lanes, one for each class, stock, street, & modified. The way the cars got classed was not done very well. I think this needs to be changed next year. My friends have a '68 that has about the same number of changes as mine and they were in street and I was in modified with my '69. I don't think the judges really cared what class the cars were in. By the way, the judges are not members of the NEOCC. Most of the judges this year were from the local Fiero club. So to those that say the only the members win I'm not sure how that happens. The judges don't know who's car are club members and who's are not. I was told this judging format came from the Camaro superfest in Michigan and not something that the NEOCC cam up with.

I know this show is has some werid issues, but I don't think it is much different then most of the other shows that I attend. You have to pay to play. How much do you want to spend to win? IF you don't win, are you going to change your car to impress the judges at the next show or are you going to change your car to what makes you happy.

For me, its what I like not what the judges think. Yes, its nice to get an award but I've entered my 69 in shows for the last 15 years and have only gotten awards at about 2% of the shows I addend. :banghead: While I'm not happy about this I keep trying.

I solved all those headaches by not going. Zemba and the NEOCC know why I left and why I won't participate in their show. For three years in a row I was placed out by a certain modified car that lied his way into the stock class. The last show finally took the wind out of my sail and I've never returned to a show since. I worked too many hours cleaning into the nooks and crannies only to see my efforts fade away into bad memories. I'd had it with judges and shows.

I enjoy the car now more than ever not having to please anyone but me. But next year if the houses are done and remodeled and work is going smoothly, I'll hit the show circuit again, display only. I miss the people and the friendships that come out of them. I miss all you guys. I lost a good camaro friend this year, one I could have seen if I had paid attention to the show schedule but stayed home working. I don't want that to happen again.

Hey rob missed ya there buddy, I think the biggest complaint that people said was... that person should be another class because of the mods. I do think that they need to better class the cars, but the neocc show is fair on judging the cars. I've been to alot of other shows in the past that the same people get the same awards based on who they know and there affiliation with the show. I don't think that’s the case with the neocc show its fair in that aspect. Rob, arch parked next to me at the show and after I was judged you know me I was still detailing my car, arch said to me why are you still cleaning your car because you got judged... I told him I don't detail my car just for the judges but also for the spectators at the show and I love to do it. Yes it does feel good to get awards for your hard work ...but when you think about it, it’s harder to impress all the spectators that look at your car then two judges. This was the only judged car show I hit this year, and its a really nice show and I think the reason its a nice show is because of what rob said its nice to talk to old friends and see what they been up to...The best show I've ever been at was this year it was a car show to benefit cancer for kids...class "a" show. they had the kids there to look at the cars and the money to enter the car show went to the kids there was no 1st 2nd or 3rd just the kids giving trophies out with there names on them to the cars they liked there were about 50- 60 kids that came there in two buses...just to see there faces look at all the cars and they were having such a great time makes you realize what a show is supposed to be about. I started hitting the benefit shows this year because of one of my friends said he went to one and the turn out was unbelievable and it was really a great time. The NEOCC show was always a great show not because of the awards but because of the people, like rob, and I got to see an old friend Tim Nicolas he flu up from Florida just to see some old faces. We sat and talked for a while and asked how things in Florida were and I asked him what do you miss from being back here...he told not the weather (haha), but the people and the community. he said that its such a fast pace down in Florida that you just find out your neighbors names and they move out...just remember I detail my car because I love to do it if you don't like to detail your car and you just do it for the judges at shows your going to have a lot of let downs...Just my 2 cents. Later Jason

Good attitude, Jason. That's why your car impresses the hell out of everyone.
