Ok heres the car I have....

1990 Camaro RS, 355 TPI swapped out from an IROC of the same year (so it utilizes speed density and not MAF)

I bought the car a while back knowing it had a few "bugs". One of which was an erratic idle. Figuring it was a vacuum leak, I went in search for it. I did not find any leaks however.

Well I've left it be just because it really hasn't been much a nuisance, just going from 1200 down to bout 500 then back up and forth. Sometimes it would eventually just level out after some driving and would stay a steady 1000 rpm in traffic. However yesterday, it started having some problems. Now the odd idle is making the car die when at a stop (like at a light or something). It'll just get real low then jump back up, then at times it'd go low enough to the point where the car just dies right there. Giving it gas (just barely on it) will keep it alive.

Any suggestions as to what is causing this?

noid light the wiring harness... check injector pulse with a multimeter, check spark, if its crappy i am sure you know what to do.. have you given it a tune up? Cap, Rotor, Pickup, Wires, Plugs, possibly coil and icm.. If you have a vacuum guage hook it up.. Lasty check the ohms of the tps..
