Ignition cutting out at 5000 RPM

I installed a msd 6al btm box on my supercharged '92 and the engine when under load will not go over 5000 rpm. I switched it back to stock ignition and still had the same problem. I know it is not fuel or a valve problem. Any ideas?

I think I have it fixed. I put a new module on the distributor and it went right up to 5800 with no problem. I think the other one has a built in rev limiter.
