I just got an 87 camaro, from my son that never should have been driving. His story goes something like this. "The car died when I was pulling into a parking spot and it rolled over the curb." the outcome, the frame or what ever it actually consists of, is bent and he was quoted 1000 to fix it. I just spent 1700 to get a tune up, rebuild the carb, replace the break discs, calibers and break pads, the transmission bracket had to be replaced because it was broken and the idler arm was broken, and one of the wheel bearings were loose. The took it in for an alignment and in order to get it aligned the oposing parts are at their posts in oposite directions.
I still need to get the frame straightened out but dont want to pay 1000. I want to know if i can do it myself and if so how. I can either go to the junkyard to get the parts or buy them if available.
I would appreciate whatever help you can provide.
the only other part of the story I can get out of my son is that while he was "parking" he managed to jump over two parking curbs and get hung up on one and had to be pulled off, causing the damage to the right front fender. I love teenagers!
