A friend of mine passed away a couple of months ago (a
big-time chevy and stock car racer) and his widow and son
asked me to sell a motor that he had in the garage. First I
need to make this clear- there are no reciepts or
paperwork for this motor yet, but they should turn up
sooner or later. When and if they turn up whoever owns
this engine will recieve them. All the info here comes from
Jason, Bobs son who was his assistant when he put the
motor together. This man and his son were very active
stock car racers here in northern california and did
everything but the machine work when they built their
motors. Who knows, somebody reading this may have
known him, his name was Bob Prigan & he lived his entire
life in a small farmtown south of San Francisco and then
south of Half Moon Bay. Anyway here is the story on the
motor. It is a 350 LT1 that has less than 1 hours running
time. And here are some of the specifics: EDELBROCK
INTAKE-202 HEADS POLISHED AND PORTED-HARLAND
SHARP ROLLER ROCKERS-CRANE SOLID LIFTER CAM-
PETE JACKSON "QUIET" GEAR DRIVE-SCREW IN
STUDS-GUIDE PLATES, POLY LOCKERS--OVERSIZE
SPRINGS ,VALVES etc. (basically the heads have been
worked to the max) -with TRW 10.5 TO 1 FORGED
PISTONS-STEEL CRANK -MILDOON REAR SUMP OIL
PAN-BALANCED & BLUEPRINTED AND BORED 40 OVER-
IT SHOULD PUT OUT 450 TO 500HP. it also has an
aluminum water pump and a holly high volume fuel
pump, there are a few xtras that also come with the deal-a
heavy duty scatter shield, with a universal adapter, an
extra edelbrock aluminum intake, a mallory dual point
distributor, and 2 cams, one that appears new and is a
summit with a 501 lift and the other is a crane ,most likely
for a small block chevy but of unknown application . There
is more that has been done to this motor and i will put the
buyer in touch with Bobs son, who was his assistant when
he was putting it together. Bob put this motor into his 1950
chevy and he barely had it out of the driveway before he
decided it was too dangerous. It was running 20 minutes
to a half hour, and has been on a stand in the garage ever
since, about 18 months.Jason estimates that his dad had
put somewhere near $9000 in it but I would say that
figure is probably high. A more reasonable amount would
be between $5000 and $7000, but $9000 is certainly not
out of the question. Any seriously interested buyer with
cash is welcome to pull the pan and see for him or herself.
NO SHIPPING PICKUP ONLY in
Half Moon Bay. This is 25 miles south of San Francisco on
hwy 1. Of course shipping is still possible with enough financial motivation. By the way, if you want refrences I have plenty.
Just ask. I have over 650 paypal verified transactions but
would rather not use them for payment. Ill
take a check but it has to clear before you can take
possession. Same for cashiers checks and money orders.
Bring cash and a pickup truck if you want to drive away
with it. I do have a cherry picker to load it with. You can email me here (rfa1@mac.com) You can see pics HERE (http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?) $2500 or best offer
