Kurupt, I need an 8" sub that pounds hard.. but is reasonably priced. Also need a pair of fairly cheap but decent 6x9's... show me some options, thanks

I know you asked Kurupt, and I'm sure he'll provide better insight, but on the 6x9's a decent set, that's affordable is the Infinity Reference line. They're only about $200 a set, and they sound pretty good. Ever think about not using 6x9's? A circular speaker IMO sounds way better.

can you even still get a 8 inch sub? I tried looking for on a few years back but had no luck so i went with a 10

just did a quick google i guess you can still get them but not very many companys still carry them so choices are gonna be slim at best.

damn dude. An 8" sub? :ugh2:

But, I guess if you've already got the box...

The best sounding 8" sub I've heard (personally) is the one PPI used to make. I don't believe they make them anymore and I couldn't find one on eBay. I did find a close second though:

Is there a reason you want to go with the 6x9's other than that's what was already there? You could get a plate made and I can sell you a set of Alpine Type R 6.5" components for cheap. I used them in my T/A for about 3 months and then sold the T/A.

If you really want 6x9's, the infinities mentioned above are good, as you know though, I'm really partial to Alpine shit. These are what I would go with:

I can't stress enough how much Alpine kicks ass. :yup:
