Timing Gear Drive vs Knock sensor?

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum but glad to be here :) I've got a 85 IROC TPI 305 I'm wanting to know if i put a (example: Edelbrock, Pete Jackson) timing gear drive will it cause problems with my knock sensor due to the noise the gear drive creates? i noticed in JEGS under the Edlebrock gear drive it says do not use on computer controlled cars........

Help out with any advise :)

ive got an erson unit on my 86 TA w/the same engine and havent had any problems with it
