It doesn't matter really i was just asking. Its nice but it just has a very unfinished look to it. I think you would have been better off with custom well box instead of the generic looking bandpass in the back seat thing. JMO

Hey llwood, you would have a Camaro that color if it wasn't for Maaco. :kiki:

llwood
10-06-2005, 10:52 PM
yup but i like the maaco job better. Might have to have it redone by a quality place though

wel its not completely done its missing some trim pannels and i need to refinish the one bandpass box top

Lethalrides2k3

ok now that i have a free min at work. those arent just some generic qlogic boxes those are alumapro bp-12 enclosures there not sitting on the back seats the back seats have been completely removed, and yes what u see in those pics isnt finished yet i still need to align all the panles a lil better and make molds for all the fiberglass trim panels that i still need to make.the whole reason with doing it were that back seats used to be was to do something diff then a well box. besides now we still have storage in that area and once the roll cage goes in the backseats are usless anyway. and it does sound quite well ill have to post more pictures when its fully done, as for now the car is getting ready to be full striped and painted so it will be a while before i get to finish the system and thats even if we stick with the alumapro boxes, really thiunking about installing 4 alpine type r 12's back there

well kurupt ? besuides i know its not the best looking box in the world but like i said in thos epics its still unfinished.

...I like it. To a point.

From everything you've said you're going to do, I think anything that I could have pointed out will be done. Get those amps out of the sun if possible. Unless you're going to mirror tint the back window, they could see a lot of unnecessary heat. It would also help them to be kept away from would be thieves.

What gauge of wire are you running to them and how long is your ground?

Oh yeah, vaccum your wood chips up ya dirty hippie! :kiki:

Is that a Z or an RS? I was confused by the rear bumper and the GFX.

llwood
10-09-2005, 10:05 PM
well if i member correctly it was a 6 cyl so.........Z is out

Lethalrides2k3
10-09-2005, 10:55 PM
its an rs with the 2.8 she ha dbought new z-28 emblems since im converting the car to an iroc the only reason the rear emblem is on now is cause when we bought the car it was missing. also changed the rs lighghts to z-28 and the rs rims are changed also, and i never got around to changing the side badges yeah the back window is gonna get tinted i just redid the side windows 5% used to have fader tint 5% that faded to a blue mirror tint but i took that off since the car is getting painted black with a multi color pearl, using 4 gauge to a dist block with 8 gauge to each amp grounds are the same 4 to a block with 8's to the amp prolly 3 ft long and those arenyt wood chips the car was cleaned inside and out before thos pics were taken, think it wa sbits of paper towels shrugs. but i have decided to crap the 2 alumapro enclousurs and ima buil a full custom box back there for 3 alpine typr rs cant fit 4 like i wanted but thats some time off for now the system will just get finished as is after the car is painted so i canb get the new engine/trans in the car then ill worry about switching the system over hopefully it will be done by xmas since this car is gonna be part of her xmas presents

woot i just ordered 4 alpine type r's though im regretting it, that money could have gone for some new engine parts for my 86 iroc the 340 in it is starting to get tierd and im about to get my liscence back, so its about time to start working on it again

llwood

not trying to steal the thread but Kurupt you were saying something about keeping the amps out of the sun. I just ordered a new well box for my car and was gonna put my 2 audiobahn amps in it as well, can i mount these under the box without causing overheating problems? I just don't like having them on the back deck for all to see.

Lethalrides2k3
10-22-2005, 05:49 PM
mounting them under the box would keep them out of the sun, but they would have no way to get air moving aross them to keep them cool if u want to keep them out of view build an enclopsed amp rack that can sit on the rear deck but get some like 12 volt computer fans to install on on each side one to push air in and one to suck air out.

llwood
10-22-2005, 08:39 PM
they are the Intake series amps so the have there own fan but.......not sure if that will be enough

Lethalrides2k3
10-24-2005, 09:10 PM
got them off ebay cost me like a total of 400 something for the subs and like 150 shipping + insurance( that money could have boght me new pistions, ring bearings for my stroker motor in my iroc dammit lmao)
llwood as long as ur amps have air circulating around them they will be fine if no tthey will just heat up the air and keep sucking in the hot air eventually overheating the amp.u need to mount them in such a way they always get fresh air

Many moons ago I had an 86 Camaro & the first system in it was just a MTX "baffle board" with 2-12's and an amp mounted down in the well. It overheated about every hour. I finally removed the spare tire and put the amp there.
