My box has a mounting depth of 7.25".. but lets say I wanna run a sub with a mounting depth of 9 inches. Could I cut a 2" thick ring of MDF then attach it with strong glue and mount it that way?

Theoretically yes, but it would look uber ghey. African engineering is best left to cars made before 1987.

u could do that and lay fiberglass over it to mold it to the box but that would require a bit of work.Prolly easier to go get a new box

god dude. No! not only would it compromise the integrity of the structure (the internal volume, etc) but the throw of the woofer would constantly be smacking the carpet...it would sound like ass.

The Mag V4 retails for 250US plus the cost of shipping on top of that. What about the new Polk MM range. They have a mounting depth of 4.5" and you can get it in either 10, 12 or 15". Retail for the 12 is 349 but Fhrx has it on sale for 280 and the 15 on sale is 320.
